Job Description
A Senior Embedded Software Engineer is needed to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and test embedded software for Class III medical devices, playing a critical role in the development of life-saving AED technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in embedded software engineering and be able to solve complex challenges in a regulated environment. This position is based at the Guilford, CT headquarters with some hybrid flexibility.
Design, implement, and test reliable, high-quality embedded software for medical devices
Develop software architecture, requirements, and design documents
Troubleshoot, prototype, and debug embedded software and hardware systems
Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA and ISO software development standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, electrical, and mechanical engineers
Qualifications and Requirements
Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly for embedded systems in medical devices
Experience with real-time operating systems and low-level debugging
Strong knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet)
Familiarity with FDA/ISO standards for medical device software development
Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field with 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
