Are you looking for a construction project management internship that offers real-world, job site experience? We’re seeking a get-it-done, organized individual to join the LV Construction and Development team to support on-the-ground project management efforts for the Rambler Columbus development near The Ohio State University campus.
This is not your run-of-the-mill coffee fetching, copy making, file sorting internship. In this role, you will work directly with the Construction Manager and Director of Construction in the day-to-day execution of projects. These projects will include field quality verification, managing RFI/Submittal log, and schedule reporting from Design to Construction Completion.
The Project Engineer Intern will assist the project manager, construction manager and director of construction in the day-to-day execution of projects. The Director of Construction will assign you to projects and will assign responsibilities including field quality verification, managing RFI/Submittal log, and schedule reporting from Design to Construction Completion.
Job Responsibilities
Assure on site work meets all project contract documents during installation
Observe and report progress of work in the field
Assure no changes are made to project scope and plans without specific approval from internal LV team.
Report project tasks status to stakeholders and the project team
Prepare monthly reports for the project as well as site visit reports.
Account for organization and distribution of project documents through all phases of work.
Monitor progress of work by architects, consultants and contractors
Maintain the security of confidential information.
Provide support and communication to leasing and marketing teams.
Understand key project issues and parameters to help guide design and consultant teams
Understanding and ability to successfully achieve project milestones and schedule.
Ability to quickly adapt to projects as changes in scope and schedule arise.
Be the lead “go to” in coordinating the LV construction administration meetings each week (Between LV construction and Design studio) . This includes keeping action items list and submittals/RFI’s up to date.Qualifications
Currently has or is actively pursuing a Bachelors’ degree in the following or related field of study: Architecture; Planning; Building Engineering; Construction Management; Civil Engineering
Business Skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat / PDF editing software, Microsoft Project
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Sketch-up
Team & Work Schedule
This individual will be required to be on a construction site at least two times per week, along with work remotely with assigned Construction Manager/Director of Construction.
This would be a full-time position during the summer months and part-time during the school year.
