Yard Helper

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and hard-working Yard Helper to join a great team. The ideal candidate will assist with loading and unloading materials, preparing customer orders, and maintaining a clean and organized yard. This position requires operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Select and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery based on tickets or verbal instructions

Load and unload lumber, building materials, and other products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and by hand

Stack and store materials in designated areas while maintaining yard safety and organization

Assist customers and delivery drivers with loading, providing excellent customer service

Inspect incoming materials for damage and verify quantities

Maintain cleanliness and order in the yard and storage areas

Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times

Perform general yard and maintenance duties as assigned

Requirements:

Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction environment preferred

Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred or provided)

Strong attention to detail and order accuracy

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude

Basic understanding of lumber types and building materials is a plus

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends or overtime as needed.

7am to 3:3pm
