Embedded Firmware Engineer

Vision Metering has been in business for 31 years and has an excellent reputation for selling high quality equipment used in the Electric, Water and Gas Utilities in the US and around the world. We are a flat organization without a lot of management layers, so micro management is at a minimum. We have many people that have been with us more than 20 years and currently employ 80+ people in the US and 30 in the Philippines. The selected candidate will be working on the Amazon Sidewalk firmware for our new product. It is a plus if you have experience with cortex processors. Also experience with Nordic processors is a plus. We will pay for you to learn how to program Nordic processors.

The Engineer we seek should have the following qualifications.

Title: Senior Embedded Design Engineer

Years Experience: 5+

Technical Knowledge Base:

1. Real Time Operating Systems, preferrably freeRTOS.

2. C programming languages experience for high reliability applications. If you know Zepher, that is a bid plus.

3 Experience designing with the following serial protocols: SPI, RS485, RS232, USB.

4. Ability to automate testing of firmware using Python or similar scripting techniques.

5. Ability to gather and document requirements for a new design.

6. Experience generating test plans and test procedures for requirements based testing.

7. Experience using office tools i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel etc...

8. Ability to start and complete a project with minimal direction.
