About the Opportunity:

As a Global Shared Services Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance across multiple international business units. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process optimization within the Shared Services function. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive financial efficiency and accuracy.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee the financial operations of the Global Shared Services function, managing both the Bosnian finance team and building out shared services across BIH and the US, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Develop and implement standardized financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across international entities.

Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations to support decision-making.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, and operations, to optimize financial processes and reporting structures.

Ensure compliance with local and international accounting regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.

Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within financial reporting and accounting functions.

Monitor and manage financial risks, providing recommendations to mitigate potential challenges.

Support audits, both internal and external, by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.

Train and mentor finance team members to enhance expertise and knowledge within the Shared Services function.

About You:

Skills and Background:

Strong knowledge of financial controlling, accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP), and financial reporting.

Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce).

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing global teams.

Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions.

Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in financial processes and systems.

In-depth understanding of international accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.

Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other international accounting standards.

Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and cultures.

High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.

Nice to Haves:

Experience in a shared services center or multinational company.

Knowledge of financial process automation tools and data analytics.

Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance in different jurisdictions.

Proven track record of leading process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
