JOB SUMMARY: The Mechatronics Engineer will play a crucial role in integrating multidisciplinary systems into armored vehicles. The successful candidate will work on the seamless integration of video systems, OEM components, hydraulic systems, lighting, and control systems, applying both mechanical and electrical engineering expertise. This position requires an understanding of system integration, control systems, and vehicle subsystems, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead the integration of video systems, OEM components, hydraulic systems, lighting, and control systems into armored vehicles. Ensure that all subsystems work together seamlessly within the vehicle platform.
Collaborate with both mechanical and electrical engineering teams to design and develop innovative solutions for vehicle control systems, hydraulic systems, lighting systems, and electronic control units (ECUs).
Work directly with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure compatibility and proper integration of third-party components, including video surveillance, lighting, and hydraulic systems.
Identify and resolve integration issues across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Perform testing and validation to ensure all systems meet performance and safety standards.
Develop and optimize control algorithms and software for integrated systems, ensuring reliability, real-time performance, and ease of use in mission-critical environments.
Create detailed documentation for system integration, design specifications, testing procedures, and maintenance protocols. Provide technical reports to management and clients as needed.
Creation of wiring schematics using SolidWorks Electrical for documentation and communication of intended designs.
Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and production teams to ensure that all integration efforts align with project goals and timelines.

EXPERIENCE:
Two plus (2+) years of DC systems experience
One plus (1+) years in an Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience with SolidWorks Electrical
Experience with SolidWorks design software
Proficient with Microsoft desktop applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Citizenship Requirements (ITAR Export Controls)
Automotive background

Research and development
Hands-on experience with welding, fabricating, machining, automotive/industrial painting, and/or production assembly work is a plus
