Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager / Benicia, CA

This position is for a fast-growing company located in Benicia, CA, and is an on-site position for someone looking to join a cutting-edge company at the forefront of their industry. We are seeking a hands-on leader to help drive the development of innovative mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Engineering team to design, develop and manufacture

Support technical decision-making on designs, prototypes, and manufacturing processes

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Production and Software engineering, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems

Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and production

Develop mechanical solutions to address key challenges such as weight reduction, durability, and cost optimization

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team

Ensure that mechanical designs adhere to safety, performance, and regulatory standards for automotive applications

Experience Required:

7+ years professional experience in mechanical systems design and development

Expertise in designing and developing components and subsystems

Strong background in full product lifecycle management, from concept through manufacturing and quality control

Previous experience managing or leading a team of engineers

Hands-on experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) and simulation tools

Experience with advanced manufacturing processes and techniques (e.g., die-casting, injection molding, etc.)

Qualifications:

BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is highly preferred

Passion for electric vehicles and sustainable transportation
