Packaging Engineer

A packaging manufacturing company in the Toledo, Ohio area is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer with a background in the cosmetics or personal care industry. This full-time, in-office role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative packaging design while supporting brand growth, customer experience, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Plan and lead packaging design and development for protective containers and components

Analyze product specifications and drawings to determine optimal materials, handling, and safety requirements

Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to assess cost-effectiveness and feasibility of designs

Prepare and present packaging concepts, specifications, and samples for internal approval

Provide direction on efficient packing methods, materials, sealing, and fastening solutions

Create detailed packaging designs using CAD tools

Utilize SolidWorks to develop precise technical packaging specifications

Qualifications:

Experience in cosmetics, personal care, or related component/dispensing packaging is required

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Strong background in mechanical engineering and structural packaging design

Excellent analytical, technical, and collaboration skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
