Manufacturing Process & Quality Engineer – Molded Fiber Packaging

We're seeking an engineer with 3–5+ years of experience who can bridge the gap between floor-level operations and high-level process improvements. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow into a leadership role within a company that values internal promotion and professional development.
What You’ll Do
Partner with technicians and operators to optimize manufacturing processes and improve throughput.
Lead quality initiatives including root cause analysis, quality documentation (PFMEAs, control plans), and audit coordination (GMP, NSF).
Develop and refine process parameters, cycle times, and material specs for molded fiber production.
Drive continuous improvement efforts—scrap reduction, yield improvement, downtime elimination.
Conduct and analyze experiments, capability studies, and process trials.
Oversee lab and process technicians, maintaining testing standards and protocols.
Collaborate with leadership on capital project justification and implementation.
Champion safety and operational excellence on the production floor.
Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
(Materials Science is a strong plus.)
3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
(Examples: pulp & paper, dairy/meat packaging, automotive, injection/blow molding, bottling, etc.)
Strong background in continuous improvement and proven results.
Experience with quality systems: SPC, documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
US work authorization (no sponsorship now or in the future).
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Comfortable working hands-on with floor personnel and technical staff.
Strong safety and attendance track record.
Nice to Haves
Industry experience in molded fiber, pulp & paper, or food packaging.
Familiarity with ERP (SAP), CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), or quality data tools (Gain Seeker, Power BI, Tableau).
Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma training (Green Belt a plus).
Experience with CAPEX projects or lab testing oversight.
