Engineering Manager

The LHH is seeking an Engineering Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near Franklin, IN. This is an opportunity to join a long-standing company that creates specialty products for various industries (including automotive). The organization is committed to operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement so you will have the opportunity to lead high-value capital projects aimed at elevating the operation and taking it to the next level. You will also lead a team of engineers and oversee all daily engineering activity. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $130-145K per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the engineering team and direct their daily duties.

Focus on the training and development of engineering staff.

Oversee engineering operations, manage new production lines, and ensure smooth integration of automation equipment and technology.

Conducts cross-functional meetings in support of initiatives to develop key measures of success and monitor performance against these measures.

Lead engineering projects and other capital projects.

Design and develop product prototypes and tooling solutions.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, quality improvement, improved efficiency, and improved material flow.

Implement Lean Manufacturing strategies whenever possible.

Evaluate, select, and purchase new machinery and equipment.

Improve the ergonomics of various cells and workstations to improve safety and efficiency.

Identify and solve issues on the manufacturing floor.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required

Minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience within the automotive industry is required

Must have 5+ years of experience leading a team of engineers within a manufacturing facility

Must have experience leading major capital projects including but not limited to machinery installation, automation, and new product development

Ideal candidates will have experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to manage capital equipment investments.

Ideal experience will include product development and tooling design

An understanding of value streams is highly preferred.
