System Engineer (Space Situational Awareness)

Location: Boulder, CO

Position Type: Permanent

Salary: $115,000 - $125,000

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to provide essential support to our operations center, with a focus on Space Situational Awareness (SSA). This role involves close collaboration with operations staff, third-party vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the space operations community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the operations center staff to identify system requirements and evaluate third-party SSA vendors.

- Work closely with the Presentation Layer contractor and other stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve engineering and system-related issues.

- Liaise with NASA to track ongoing studies, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and providing regular updates to the team.

- Participate in meetings and technical discussions with government agencies and industry partners, representing the interests of the operations center.

- Ensure effective communication and problem-solving across all involved parties, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of space operations and the SSA community.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Extensive background in systems engineering, particularly within the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) domain or similar fields.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in evaluating third-party vendors and resolving system-related challenges within complex operational environments.

- Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with government agencies, industry partners, and internal teams.

- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- NASA Liaison: Experience working with NASA or similar agencies is a plus, with the ability to track studies and engage in technical discussions.
