Assist Operations Director and/or Panel Shop Manager in directing and managing multiple concurrent panel shop projects and personnel, ensuring their success in meeting their respective objectives (i.e. quality, schedule, budget, spec compliance, and technology). Normal shop hours are Mon - Thurs 6;00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The Foreman will work Monday - Thursday, 5:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional overtime as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Leadership - Direct and manage panel shop activities and personnel from concept design, prototype, and testing to formal release and support.

· Maintain supervision of panel shop personnel, counseling on approach, setting expectations, maintain schedules, and ensure objectives are being met or exceeded.

· Fabricate and wire control panels with expected quality, efficiency, and safety.

· Develop and implement improved methods and procedures to enhance the department's products and services, and improve the time taken to engineer specific elements (KPIs).

· Keep advised and provide counsel to management on industry standards, trends, and new technology that can be incorporated into company products and services.

· Provide engineering feedback at key stages in the project.

· Ensure quality on all deliverables – Review and approve.

· Liaise and assist Panel Shop Manager, QA, and Hardware Design with issues and concerns found in design of panels.

· Notify Purchasing Manager of stock items running low.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

· Align work ethic and actions with company vision.

· Any other task as directed by management

Responsibility and Authority

· Responsibility: Noted above – Be aware of resources, panel shop processes, quality, compliance with local and federal laws, and codes for shop and panel products.

· Authority: Panel shop technical decisions within spec compliance and in association with engineering.

Qualifications

· Strong communication and decision-making skills.

· Computer skills and proficiency working with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Understanding at high level of how control panels function.

Language Ability

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with co-workers and customers, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Alliant Technologies Employee Handbook and all company policies. Must be able to interpret written warnings as posted in the panel shop area.

Experience

· 5 years panel shop/manufacturing experience.

· Experience managing people preferred.
