Our client is seeking a Director of GNC Hardware & Test to lead the development of systems essential for the design and construction of artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations.
Responsibilities:
Manage engineers responsible for developing procedures for confidence, acceptance, and qualification tests of GNC components
Ensure engineers coordinate in a timely manner with relevant functional groups to obtain environmental test levels, test harnessing, and ground support equipment
Ensure industry standards are met when leading and signing off on test readiness reviews
Oversee end-to-end GNC testing during and after vehicle integration, both prior to and at payload processing facilities
Manage GNC test schedules
Lead the development of high-fidelity GNC flight dynamics simulations and data management systems in support of GNC Monte-Carlo simulations
Coordinate with the flight software test team to ensure hardware-in-the-loop testing of GNC components meets industry standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline
8+ years of engineering experience in the space industry
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
Proficiency in computer applications and the ability to navigate various software programs
Ability to create and update requests for proposals (RFPs), purchase orders (POs), and facilities work orders in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
Strong team collaboration skills
Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
Strong communication skills for relaying data between employees, vendors, and customers
Logical and strategic problem-solving skills
Ability to read and understand basic floor plans
Ability to work in a high-stress environment, manage multiple projects, and adapt to abrupt strategic changes

Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
