Focus:
Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades of SQL Server database systems and associated tools.
Continuously monitor database performance, availability, and system health, taking a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.
Perform routine maintenance activities such as backups, restores, and tuning for optimal performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and enhance data models and database architecture.
Maintain comprehensive documentation on database structures, configurations, processes, and standards.
Administer and enforce data security measures and access controls in alignment with corporate compliance requirements.
Assist in the development and execution of robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Troubleshoot database-related issues, providing timely and effective support to internal stakeholders.
Proactively propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, security, and scalability.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and industry standards to continuously drive innovation.
Support other projects and database initiatives as assigned.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline – or equivalent practical experience.
Proficient with T-SQL and database query optimization.
Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure Data Studio, and SSIS packages.
Experience scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Agent Jobs.
Solid understanding of backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery concepts.
Understanding of database design principles and data modeling.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Database Administrator Associate, or Data Analyst Associate (Preferred)
Bonus Skills:
Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization.
Exposure to data warehousing concepts and platforms like Snowflake or Redshift.
Programming knowledge in TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
Familiarity with open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
