Columbus Ohio (Hybird)

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of Accounting or Reporting experience in a registered investment company or financial services industry

• Ability to apply accounting and financial concepts

• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with other standard MS Office applications

• Experience with financial analysis

• Familiarity with regulatory reporting

• Experience supporting quarterly and annual reporting and other financial reports

• Experience with GAAP and SEC filings

• High quality customer service to internal and external clients

• Intermediate organizational and project management skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to identify and implement process improvements

• Complete daily work in compliance with internal controls and procedures necessary to ensure quality products

• Willingness to work outside of normal work hours when necessary, particularly during peak production cycles

• Strong time management & communication skills

• Ability to work with and assist other associates in meeting common goals

• Strong technical writing skills

• Initiative in self-development

• Ability to work towards creating a positive working environment

Desired Skills & Experience

• Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business area

What You Will Be Doing

• Will analyze, monitor, implement budgets for our clients, and ensure timely payment of fund expenses

• Will also review monthly and annual excise distributions, along with reporting such as Total Returns, Board reporting and year-end tax reporting requirements

• May collaborate with other members of Financial Administration to support the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports for investment companies in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) requirements

• Review and/or update vendor information and payment instructions for fund expenses

• Perform initial review of monthly and annual excise distributions, and monthly total return calculations

• Prepare quarterly Board reports

• Assist in fund year-end tax reporting

• Support the preparation and review of financial statements and perform an initial review of SEC filings (e.g. N-CSR, N-CEN and 24F-2, N-1A etc.)

• Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of investment types, mutual funds, ETFs, and financial markets

• Respond proactively to internal and external client inquiries

• Host training sessions and prepare training materials, create and maintain procedures, participate in process improvement committees and/or initiatives

• Work on special projects, other regulatory filings, and ad hoc requests as assigned
