Position Summary
The Director of Maintenance will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the maintenance function for our global manufacturing facilities specializing in liquid dispersion and masterbatch additives. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal facility performance, equipment reliability, and sustained production efficiency. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Director will oversee a diverse team of mechanics, fabricators, and electricians to drive the implementation of best practices, and lead the continuous improvement of maintenance processes worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
Global maintenance leadership - develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy that aligns with global operational goals
Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track maintenance effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
Develop a high-performing global maintenance team - establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for mechanics, electricians, and support staff
Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance such as reactive repairs and equipment troubleshooting, preventative and predictive maintenance programs, etc.
Develop and implement standardized maintenance procedures, protocols, and scheduling systems
Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies to drive maintenance excellence
Contract and vendor management - establish partnerships with external contractors and service providers to supplement in-house capabilities
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources
Oversee capital expenditure planning for maintenance-related projects and equipment upgrades
Compliance and safety - ensure all maintenance activities adhere to regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
Global travel is required to visit manufacturing sites, supplier locations, and contractor facilities
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with liquid dispersion, masterbatch additives, or similar process manufacturing industries is highly desirable
Strong facilitation and project management skills
Excellent knowledge of facilities and equipment utilized in a manufacturing environment
Experience developing and executing Equipment and Facilities Qualification protocols
Experience planning and executing capital projects re: GMP facility and equipment changes/additions
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, including PLC programming and industrial control systems
Deep experience and understanding of maintenance related systems: CMMS, Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams across diverse geographical locations
The ability to build teams where employees have a shared purpose and vision; demonstrated experience building unity between sites and/or functions
Experience in budgeting, cost control, and capital planning
