Hardware System Engineer (Smart Glasses / Sensors)
Meta is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA! This position will be working on various sensor bring-up activities that may include IMU, proximity, capacitive touch, ECG, and/or ambient light sensors. In this role you will contribute to smart glass module bring-up, including sensor design, characterization, and validation for AR Smart Glasses.
Responsibilities:
Support sensor module bring-up, including design, characterization, and validation
Define Sensor characterization/validation methodologies for sensors (IMU, proximity, capacitive touch, and/or ambient light sensors)
Prototype new sensor architectures through the design of analog front-end and simulation for optimal functionality and performance
Track and execute detailed test plans for the system modules and subsystems characterization to meet key deadlines and priority goals.
Contribute to the design of new sensor module architectures to support additional features
Develop automated test setups with SW scripting to implement module characterization/validation
Own execution, interpretation, and reporting of results.
Support system bring up and debug activities
Clearly communicate test plans and results
Qualifications:
5+ years of Electrical Engineering, with strong sensor experience ideally within consumer electronics or similar products
Hands-on experience in design, development, characterization, and validation of sensing applications
Experience with one or more of the following sensors - IMU, proximity, capacitive touch, and/or ambient light sensors
Experience executing electrical testing on the bench, with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, e-load, power supply, power analyzer, signal generator, and temp chamber.
Understanding of board schematics and board layout.
Ability to find proper probe locations and identify potential points of failure in the DUT.
Skilled using Python for data processing and automation.
Self-motivated and team player
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of PCB schematic and layout design concepts for flex boards
Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
