Telecom Buyer

Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with IT suppliers.

Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes.

Collaborates and supports IT stakeholders.

Executes category sourcing strategies including development and execution of RFI’s and RFP’s, documents bid events through correspondence to suppliers

Develops selection criteria and drives the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional teams; conducts supplier negotiations and ongoing supplier management.

Gains alignment from stakeholders, leads cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implements appropriate supplier risk analysis

Executes and sustains effective Global Procurement strategies, systems, processes and tools to enable simplification, standardization, leverage and compliance across the Company.

Collects, analyzes and audits data in support of managing spend, ensuring sourcing process compliance, developing plans for procurement, managing transportation and expediting or troubleshooting delivery of quality materials and services. Provides a comprehensive, sustainable and cost-effective supplier base for the company, while minimizing supply risk.

Monitors supplier performance to ensure that delivery dates and technical and contractual requirements are met.

Participates in strategic meetings with suppliers and business leaders to ensure execution of defined strategies.

Manages day-to-day on-going category supplier relations and seeks out growth or revision opportunities within supply base.

Acts as the internal point of contact for supplier management and complaint resolution; conducts regular supplier meetings and implements improvement strategies with suppliers.

Creates, nurtures, and enhances supplier relationships.

Adheres to company Savings goals and reviewing financial models for commodity type items.

Ensures spend portfolio for reoccurring managed spend is balanced through coordinated sourcing waves and leveraged with sourcing methodology.

Drives consolidation of IT spend and seeks out synergies across Business Units

Champions weekly category review meetings with cross-functional teams to manage category performance.

Qualifications:

Has at least 7 years of Purchasing and Sourcing experience.

Has at least 5 years IT product and service purchasing and management experience.

Professional with significant knowledge within own discipline and knowledge of related disciplines, completing specialized and/or moderately complex tasks under moderate supervision. May supervise employees, focused on task performance and delivery of specialized processes.

Requires conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and developing knowledge of related job disciplines.

Has developed a detailed understanding of key business drivers through multiple years of experience.

May supervise or act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Has the ability to understand and influence.

Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team.

Begins to work independently with minimal to moderate guidance.
