CNC Programmer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and versatile CNC Programmer with expertise in SolidWorks software who can go beyond conventional programming. This role requires a professional who not only writes efficient CNC programs but is also capable of setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines. Additionally, the ideal candidate will bring valuable design experience in the pallet/ground mat industry and will play a key role in managing and mentoring our team of technicians.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Machine Setup:

Develop and optimize CNC programs using SolidWorks and related CAM software.

Set up CNC machines, ensuring proper calibration and configuration to meet precise manufacturing requirements.

Operate CNC machinery and adjust processes in real time to ensure quality and efficiency.

Machine Operation & Troubleshooting:

Monitor machine performance and implement corrective actions to resolve any operational issues.

Conduct routine maintenance and perform troubleshooting to minimize production downtime.

Collaborate with the engineering team to refine machine operations and processes.

Product Design & Development:

Apply design knowledge in the pallet/ground mat business to contribute innovative solutions.

Create and modify technical drawings to support production and design improvements.

Ensure that design specifications are fully integrated into the CNC programming process.

Team Leadership & Management:

Supervise and provide guidance to the technicians on staff.

Organize workflow, assign tasks, and ensure that team operations align with production schedules.

Lead training sessions and develop the skills of junior team members.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:

Oversee quality control procedures to maintain high manufacturing standards.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

Maintain detailed records of operations, machine adjustments, and maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

Proven experience in CNC programming, particularly using SolidWorks.

Hands-on experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.

Industry Experience:

Experience in the pallet/ground mat design or a closely related field is a significant asset.

Background in product design, drafting, or related manufacturing processes.

Management Skills:

Demonstrated experience in supervising or managing a team of technicians.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead, train, and mentor staff.

Problem-Solving & Communication:

Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive attitude toward problem resolution.

Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Education & Certifications:

An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Relevant certifications in CNC programming or machining will be considered an asset.
