Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced
As a Geotechnical Staff Engineer in New Albany, Indiana, you are at the foundation of our subsurface exploration and drilling operations in support of the infrastructure-building phase for our clients. While working under the supervision of a Licensed Engineer, together you will provide engineering solutions and recommendations as well as support our clients in their development initiatives. This role includes performing technical geotechnical analyses, writing reports, and fieldwork.
What You'll Do:
Field Operations Coordination: Coordinating field exploration and drilling operations.
Soil Sample Collection and Logging: Collecting and logging soil samples from the field.
Solar Pile Load Testing: Working with a field team performing foundation load testing for solar energy facilities.
Soil Testing and Analysis: Testing, analyzing, evaluating, and performing calculations to evaluate the behavior of the subsurface conditions relative to development.
Report Preparation: Preparing written reports with findings and geotechnical opinions, conclusions, and recommendations.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related engineering field
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
Engineer in Training (EIT) license, a plus
Excellent computer skills including at a minimum, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
What to Expect:
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
