OBGYN- Hospitalist- Medical Director - Conroe, TX
Experienced and dedicated Site Medical Director (SMD) to lead our OB/GYN Hospitalist team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled leader to manage a growing department while ensuring high-quality care in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management: Oversee the OB/GYN Hospitalist team, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality patient care, and foster a collaborative environment.
Clinical Oversight: Provide direct patient care, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, and OB/GYN emergencies, while supervising team members in clinical decision-making.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Scheduling & Coverage: Coordinate shift schedules, ensure adequate coverage for 24-hour shifts and fair distribution of workload.
Collaboration with Administration: Work with hospital leadership to report on performance, staffing needs, and help shape the department’s growth and strategy.
Education & Professional Development: Promote ongoing education for team members and ensure continuing medical education (CME) opportunities.
Requirements:
Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in OB/GYN Hospitalist or team management roles.
Clinical Expertise: Experience in OB/GYN hospitalist care, including labor and delivery and obstetric emergency management.
Flexibility: Willingness to work 24-hour shifts, with a minimum of 6 shifts per month. Ability to manage shift requests and coverage effectively.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with staff, administration, and patients.
Licenses & Certifications:
Texas Medical License: Must be licensed to practice in Texas.
Board Certification: Must be board-certified in OB/GYN (ABOG).
DEA License: Valid DEA license for prescribing medications.
BLS & ACLS: Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications.
NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $149 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $50,100 with a 3-year commitment
Relocation Assistance: Up to $9,999
CME Allowance: $3,488 annually for full-time employees
Holiday Pay: Additional $599 per holiday shift worked
Holiday Requirements: Work at least 2 holidays per year (1 major, 1 minor)
Other Information:
No PTO or Sick Time is offered for this position.
Residency: Must reside in the area—no travel-in arrangements available for shifts.
