Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location: Orangeburg, SC

Salary: $95,000 - $120,000

Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving process enhancements and cost-saving initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This role supports operational excellence by leading and facilitating improvement efforts across manufacturing operations. You’ll work hands-on with teams to implement sustainable changes that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

5+ years of experience in a dedicated Lean Six Sigma role within a manufacturing environment

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (required)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Experience facilitating Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement teams

Demonstrated ability to influence teams and build morale in fast-paced environments

Prior experience developing and maintaining standard work and implementing 5S, TPM, or Value Stream Mapping

Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to varying conditions

Responsibilities

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant, aligned with Lean principles

Identify and implement process changes to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and meet safety and quality goals

Facilitate Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement workshops

Develop tools and visual management systems such as workflow diagrams, standard work documents, and floor layouts

Analyze data to identify trends and measure the impact of process improvements

Recommend improvements in methods, equipment, and procedures to enhance efficiency

Provide daily troubleshooting support for manufacturing issues

Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other departments to sustain a culture of continuous improvement

Travel occasionally to domestic sites as needed

Compensation:

$95,000-$120,000 per year
