House Director (part-time) Northern Illinois University

Delta Nu Sorority on the Northern Illinois University campus, has 25 women living in the house this fall. We are currently seeking a part-time House Director to work approximately 20 hours a week, $20.00 an hour with a start date in mid-July 2025. The total compensation for this position includes private living quarters (if needed, can be partially furnished) with full bath, refrigerator, utilities, internet/Wi-Fi, on-site laundry facilities, reserved parking space, a monthly food stipend, paid University recognized holidays and a flexible schedule. **Please note, this position is in Illinois on the campus of Northern Illinois University.

Job duties include but not limited to:

* Ensures a safe, comfortable and productive environment for collegians.

* Coordinates routine maintenance and oversees service providers.

* Communicates house maintenance issues to the manager.

* Immediately reports all damages which require insurance claims to manager.

* Assists with creating strategy for the long-term care and upkeep of the facility.

* Communicates any unusual trends and/or problems within the chapter to the Chapter Adviser.

* Communicates professionally and regularly with Chapter President and Director of House Management.

* Maintains and is responsible for a credit card for small expenses.

* Adheres to campus, Fraternity and Chapter policies and rules.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous Property Management experience and/or House Director experience a plus.

* Excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to work independently and efficiently.

* Ability to perform basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to scan and email documents.

* Positive solution-focused attitude.

* Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with students, parents, alumnae, service providers and community resources.

* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with college-age women. Must be patience and the ability to pivot.

* Ability to maintain confidential information.

* Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds if necessary.

* A valid driver's license preferred.

Time Commitment:

The House Director must be onsite, overnight, seven nights per week when the collegians are in residence except when prior arrangements have been made for other adult supervision.
