Description

The Patient Access Manager is responsible for the management of the Hospital's patient registration areas, inpatient and outpatient, precertification staff, financial counseling, central scheduling, point of service cash posting, training and education of patient access staff and policy enforcement. The Patient Access Manager will:

Provide guidance and coverage for employees, monitor Quality Assurance measures, and oversee ongoing staff training.

Ensure high quality service for patients and accuracy of information affecting both pre and post visit services and in claims processing and patient statements.

Perform other duties as determined. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Management, or related field ( preferred )

Supervisory experience ( preferred )

Patient access/registration functions in a hospital ( preferred )

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).

Ability to foster an environment that nurtures collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills required to evaluate processes and to recommend improvements as necessary.

Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with patients, physicians and all levels of department staff.

Strong commitment to formalized orientation and training of staff on an on-going basis.
