Position Description: The Copy Editor will work with a team of writers to ensure all content adheres to the OC guidelines. We are looking for a creative Copywriter to write clear and concise copy for ads, publications

and websites. Your words will inform and engage target audiences.

Primary Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, journalism or related field

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender and cultural barriers.

Successful candidate must be an active member of a local Church.

Responsibilities and Skills:

Ensure that content adheres to the in-house style guide

Social Media Copywriter responsibilities include updating our social media pages, responding to followers and tracking user engagement.

Stay abreast of the latest media trends and content best practices

Collaborate with team to come up with fresh and creative ideas, keeping the audience in mind

Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines

Must be highly organized since they will manage several projects at a time.

Copy Editor’s responsibilities include proofreading, editing and working with writers to deliver quality content.

Writing clear, compelling copy for various mediums (e.g. ads, blog posts, newsletters)

Conducting thorough research and interviews

Working with creative professionals to build marketing projects and campaigns that are accurate and free of grammatical errors.

Proven work experience as a Social Media Copywriter or similar role

Hands-on experience using various social media platforms to advertise

Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)

Familiarity with online paid advertising

Ability to deliver creative web content (text, image and video)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in desktop publishing software and Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Leadership and time management skills

Great customer service skills with Oklahoma Christian University faculty and staff, new and current students, and parents of new and current students.

Must be flexible when working on multiple projects at the same time.

A positive, Christ-centered attitude is also required.
