Your Role
SAS is seeking a Computer Support & Security Specialist to join the SAS IT team. You will support a Mixed Computing environment consisting of Azure government Cloud, Microsoft 365 Government Cloud, and an on-premises environment. As a federal government contractor, knowledge of CMMC 2.0 will play a critical role in your duties. You will support all aspects of the infrastructure from front-end user assigned hardware to back-end server hardware and applications. Maintaining the infrastructure and ensuring it meets CMMC 2.0 requirements and audits will be a major part of your job duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support team members by owning & resolving issues using the company’s help desk ticketing system.
Support new hire onboarding through timely provisioning, setup and orientation of hardware, software, systems, and company devices
Maintaining Servers by patching and keeping the OS updated with the latest fixes and security patches
Implementing Microsoft Azure Security recommendations and best practices on both Azure Cloud as well as on-premises servers
Be proficient at using Microsoft Defender for Cloud to maintain a high security posture score
Be familiar with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification requirements and implementation
Understand, champion and ensure IT Policies and Procedures are maintained and followed consistently
Use Microsoft Sentential SIEM to support security information and management
Respond to alerts in monitoring the infrastructure on both Azure and on-premises environments. Maximize uptime and availability of the IT infrastructure
Support and interact with end-users and teammates in a professional manner
Set SMART goals and continuous professional development to ensure current knowledge and skills in keeping with industry trends
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience
Network security experience with RBAC and ACL
Familiarity with CMMC 2.0
Working knowledge in utilizing and administering Linux/Windows Operating Systems
Ability to administer Microsoft 365
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
Ability to administer Palo Alto and SonicWall Firewalls including S2S VPN and SSL VPN configuration
Proficiency in the administration of Microsoft Window Servers
Demonstrated know-how to administer VMware
Fundamental Certification in Azure Cloud
Applied knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and CMMC 2.0 implementation
Security Certifications (CompTIA Security+, GSEC, CASP, CISSP, and/or other Cyber Security certifications)
