Salary: $29 - $38 per hour
Jammies Environmental is the preferred company to call when our customers - which include some of the largest manufacturers in the PNW - have a need for industrial or railroad services. Our mechanics are the grease that keep the "wheels turning" at Jammie's, as we have an ever growing fleet of over 300 pieces - - vac-trucks, tractors, hydro-blasters, frac pumps, roll-off trucks, wheel loaders, CATs, excavators (and more). Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Upholds and follows all company, state and federal safety rules and protocols, including the use of PPE.
Performs safety inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance to company vehicles to ensure safe operations of vehicles and equipment. Maintenance may include engine and transmission services, brakes. A/C, steering and suspension, hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems.
Prioritizes work based on safety, scheduled need; documents repairs and consistently communicates status to shop manager and dispatch.
Responds to emergency calls for assistance; travels to sites as necessary to assist others and transport vehicles and equipment.
May fabricate parts and tools; performs welding as needed to replace or rebuild needed parts and equipment.
Assists in maintaining accurate parts inventory
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in automotive and/or diesel technology or related field; AND 3-5 years experience working in vehicle maintenance and repair OR equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
This position may eventually work and potentially lead a Swing Shift, so the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team is crucial.
Must have tools.
Possesses an understanding and ability to read and understand schematics and diagrams.
Work environment may be indoors in a shop or outdoors to repair trucks on the road or customer sites.
Excellent driving/safety record. A current driving abstract and proof of all certifications and licenses is required; CDL strongly preferred.
Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, background check and participate in JEIs DOT drug and alcohol program, to include random testing

TWIC Card or the ability to get a TWIC card preferred.

The posted salary is a range; the starting salary is typically set at the midpoint of the range, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
