The MBA Program Director is responsible for leading Concordia University's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, including all academic and operational activities.
The MBA Program Director ensures strong student enrollment and retention, oversees the program budget and course schedule, and is responsible for keeping program curricula current and relevant.
The individual in this position will also lead development of a new Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program including creating the program mission, vision, outcomes and curriculum.
This position requires strong collaboration skills and daily interaction with university administrators, staff, faculty and students, and overseas program representatives.
This full-time, exempt (salary) position reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Business and is located on the Mequon, Wisconsin Campus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Create and administer a plan to ensure strong student enrollment and retention, including touchpoints with new and returning students Ensure relevant and current curriculum Collaborate to develop stackable credentials and professional development programming Direct and lead program assessment and accreditation reporting process internally and with accreditors Hire, onboard, and train and oversee qualified faculty to teach in the program Promote and support innovative teaching practices Communicate policy and procedures to faculty and staff Develop yearly academic course schedule for all instructional methods Develop and lead activities that support short-term study abroad opportunities Develop program budget to align with program goals Collaborate with the Concordia International Center staff in support of international program development Oversee Industry Leaders Speaker Series Develop and lead activities that support the Business Scholars program Administer and address MBA student concerns and grievances Teach 6 credits per year Conduct peer-reviewed research and scholarship according to the standards outlined in the Concordia University faculty handbook Serve on departmental and University-wide committees as appropriate Lead and direct special projects as assigned May perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of business administrative practices Excellent, professional communication skills both written and interpersonal Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize responsibilities Ability to work as a collaborative leader Ability to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment Effective use of project management software, and Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access Knowledge and skill in the use of social media sites Knowledge and skill in the use of SCT Banner, Blackboard, and Pyramid Analytics Knowledge of and commitment to the Christian faith and Concordia University mission; all Concordia faculty are members of Christian congregations and connect faith to their disciplines in the classroom Additional Requirements Minimum of an MBA is required.
Terminal degree related to business preferred Proven ability to lead staff Strong organizational, problem solving, and project management skills Experience with academic program management Ability to travel nationally and internationally Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for special events.
Education and Experience A Master's degree in business, administration, or leadership is required; an earned doctorate is preferred.
Highly qualified applicants will also have prior experience in teaching, student advising or admissions at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, exempt (salary) position.
The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
