Job SummaryThe Information Technology (IT) Technician I position is responsible for providing technical support to the users while working under direct supervision and following standard procedures and written instruction to accomplish assigned tasks. This position troubleshoots and resolves issues with audio/video equipment utilized in classrooms labs and Conference rooms. This position serves as the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware / software, PC / Mac / Linux or Audio-Visual problems. The position assists users via telephone, email, chat and in person with a wide range of questions, problems, and requests related to desktop software, hardware, peripherals, network issues, and applications issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Customer Service
Collaborate with fellow frontline technicians on work orders generated by the institutional ticketing system to address challenges faced by college educational users.
Collaborate with the audio-visual (AV) design team on work orders necessitating specialized expertise, ensuring the successful completion of these tasks.
Help train and support all IT Work Study students.
Conduct room checks as dictated by the department schedule during downtimes.
Conduct computer lab equipment upgrades and demos.
Conduct any classroom equipment changes due to malfunction, end of use, or damage.
IT Technical Support
When issues are identified with AV equipment take all steps necessary to replace, update, or troubleshoot working with various support sources either internal or external to the college IT department.This can be following but not limited to ATS System Administrators, AV Design Team, Network Team, Asset Management, Manufacturer Technical Support.
Continuous Improvement
Trains on all utilities used within the ATS area including imaging and installing software on workstations and laptops, Microsoft Teams, AV monitoring and configuration tools.
Develops broad and in-depth knowledge of software and hardware that are unique to the support area.

Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity.
Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule on an as-needed basis.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent, 2 years of experience with classroom technology support. *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate
