Quality Engineer

Job Description

We're currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a leading machinery manufacturer in Wood Dale, IL. As an Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in quality control for completed equipment/enclosures, overseeing the inspection and documentation of assemblies, components, and system builds before shipment

Hourly Rate - $35/hr to $45/hr – End of Year Earning – 90k to 110k

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.

4+ years of experience as a Quality Engineering role or related in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in using air spray equipment, rollers, brushes, and other painting tools.

Experience in manufacturing quality control, with hands-on experience inspecting assembled mechanical systems and fabricated components.

Experience streamlining inspection and documentation processes for one-off or low-volume production builds.

Skilled in internal quality auditing and maintaining compliance with ISO standards and customer-specific quality requirements.

A continuous improvement mindset, always looking to enhance QC procedures, workflow efficiency, and overall accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of quality control for complete equipment systems and fabricated mechanical enclosures, overseeing the inspection and documentation of assemblies, components, and system builds prior to shipment.

Performing in-depth inspections to ensure conformance to engineering specifications

Lead internal audits

Improving quality documentation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.

Work closely with welders, fabricators, and assemblers to verify that all parts and systems meet engineering requirements and customer expectations.

Help lead and mentor a growing quality team, which currently includes two Quality Clerks (with a third being added to meet demand).
