Job Description:
Summary:
The Khan Institute is seeking a part-time research assistant to support a six-month research project running from March 2025 through September 2025. The Research Assistant will support literature review and analysis - to include organizing and collecting resources and citations, summarizing and synthesizing research findings, and contributing to data analysis.
Responsibilities:
Collect and organize sources for literature review. Must know how to format and cite correctly using APA.
Analyze theoretical and empirical research from scholarly publications, think tank reports, and industry studies.
Must be comfortable with learning tech and cybersecurity terms and jargon.
Categorize emerging themes and synthesize insights into outlines and reports.
Assist with organizing data collected from interviews and focus groups.
Assist with scheduling and providing operational support for focus groups and interviews conducted virtually.
Collaborate with the research team on documentation and presentation of findings.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:
Part-Time.
20 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$17.50 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
Strong research and analytical skills.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and cybersecurity policy landscape.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with seasoned professionals.
Exceptional organization skills.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
Experience with qualitative research methodologies.
Comfortable with Zoom, Word and Excel.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Ability to use Canva for final report formatting.
Experience and interest in cybersecurity and cybersecurity policy is desirable but not required.
