Homer Electric Association (HEA) is a member-owned electric utility serving the central and southern areas of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.

We are excited to be growing our Information Technology team and are seeking for an Operational Technology Manager to join the leadership group.

This position may be located in Homer or Kenai based on operational needs and candidate desire.

We truly believe in the cooperative values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community and a successful candidate will have an opportunity to directly impact these values using innovative and versatile technology solutions.rnThe Operational Technology Manager position has a direct impact to lead and support sound solutions related to Cooperative Operational Technologies (OT) systems for Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Communications, Networking, Cyber Security, Supervisory Control and Date Acquisition (SCADA), Outage Management (OMS), Distribution Management (DMS Smart Grid) and Fault Location Isolation Service Restoration (FLISR), Switch Order Management (SOM) and revenue metering systems.

Responsible for the efficacy of all aspects of the Cooperative's Information Technology and Cyber Security program.

As a member of the leadership team, you are empowered to lead in day-to-day operations within the OT department.rnDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: rnrnProvide leadership in the planning, recommendations, monitory and tracking of electric transmission, distribution and substation design and preventative maintenance to ensure total system reliability.rnOversee the correcting system infrastructure necessary to support system wide Cooperative outage management and restoration systems.rnLead in any investigations of complaints and claims related to abnormal system conditions.rnEnsure the Cooperative generation, transmission, distribution, SCADA, communication systems and cyber security systems, are compliant to applicable codes and standards.rnrnEDUCATION EXPERIENCE: rnrnBachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Electrical Engineering, or related field.rnHighly preferred to have ten (10) years of business/industry work experience, with at least 5 years related to IT, OT or Cyber Security and 2 years of supervisory experience.rnKnowledge, understanding, and experience with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and/or Alaska Railbelt CIP requirements.rnKnowledge, understanding, and experience with communications, generating plant controls, SCADA, DMS, or OMS systems.rnrnREQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES LICENSES:rnrnResults-oriented leadership background.rnExcellent communication skills with the technical aptitude to work closely with the management team.rnProject management skills to manage multiple projects with varying scopes and timelines.rnStrong problem solving and decision-making skills to anticipate, identify and resolve complex problems.rnMust submit a valid Alaska Driver's license and maintain a good driving record.rnMust possess or provide proof of application for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, as required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) for unescorted access to secure areas of the nation's maritime transportation system, within 30 calendar days of employment.rnMust obtain and maintain required security clearance to access confidential information through Homeland Security and other cyber security regulatory agencies.rnrnWe invite you to join our team of professionals at Homer Electric Association.
