Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Integration and Automation:
Define, evaluate, and oversee the integration of automatic and semi-automated assembly and formation equipment.
Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI programs for manufacturing automation.
Collaborate with equipment vendors to ensure compliance with process requirements and production KPIs.Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
Develop and optimize vision inspection, and robotic systems for efficiency and quality.
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the cell and module manufacturing equipment and End-of-Line testing.Support data collection and predictive maintenance systems.
Work with factories to perform security updates and maintain backup and recovery plans for SCADA/MES.Quality and Compliance:
Work with the quality team to ensure process automation meets ISO 9001 and UL2580 requirements.
Optimize machine vision provided by the equipment vendor for in-line quality control.Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Diagnose and resolve automation and control system issues to minimize downtime.
Develop preventive maintenance plans and support technical training for operators.
Advanced troubleshooting of messaging from production floor equipment to-and-from the SCADA/MES systems.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with process engineers, production, and IT teams to integrate automation with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
Provide technical guidance on safety systems, electrical schematics, and control panel designs.Required Qualifications and SkillsTechnical Skills:
Strong background in PLC programming (mainly Siemens).
Experience with SCADA, HMI, and MES systems.
Proficiency in industrial robotics and machine vision.Knowledge of electrical control systems, sensors, actuators, and pneumatics.Experience with battery manufacturing equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot automation systems, networking, and fieldbus protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT).Soft Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar field.
5+ years of experience in automated manufacturing, preferably in battery or electronics assembly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis (RCA) in automation.Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and OEE optimization is a plus.Preferred Experience:
Hands-on experience with semi-automated lithium-ion battery assembly lines.
Knowledge of electrochemical formation, aging, and end-of-line testing.
Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IoT sensors, and AI-based automation.Prior experience with FAT, SAT, and equipment commissioning.
