Job Description
Fabrication Technician
A Fabrication Technician will have mastered all the core competencies of an AV Technician. and is able to assemble and build AV assemblies according to the specifications of approved drawings.
Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools including but not limited to
strippers
cutters/shears
wrenches
socket sets
soldering gun
saws
drills
punch tools
Ability to read wiring schematics including Control, Audio, Video, Data, and Power
Ability to identify and terminate common AV/Data Field connectors. Including but not limited to:
RJ-45
XLR
3.5 mm
CATV
Terminal strips
Will be required to fabricate equipment according to drawings and work orders, including but not limited to:
Wiring and Soldering of multi-conductor cable
Wire harnessing
Loading equipment racks
Installation of rack AV components and wiring
Bending and punching of panels
Must be able to efficiently deliver the above, fully assembled and within budgeted hours
Comprehension and use of the internal VTOOLS system to track equipment, work hours, and progress notes as required of the Fabrication process
Must be able to comply with all safety rules and regulations required by clients for site visitation.
Ability to communicate with the project team including Project Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors to identify technical /logistical issues that may have an impact on scheduled delivery of systems.
Must obtain/hold the following certifications:
OSHA-30
CTS
