Class A CDL Directional Drill Operators

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Class A CDL Directional Drill Laborer to join our team. This position supports directional drilling operations by assisting with the setup, maintenance, and operation of horizontal directional drilling equipment, while also ensuring compliance with all safety and traffic regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced in underground utility work.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of directional drilling equipment.

Operate vac trucks and support equipment as needed.

Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to job sites using company vehicles.

Maintain drilling equipment and tools in clean, working condition.

Pothole utilities to ensure accurate bore paths and avoid conflicts.

Set up jobsite safety measures including signs, cones, and barricades.

Work closely with drill operators, locators, and other crew members to ensure safe and efficient job completion.

Follow instructions from supervisors while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and other general labor equipment as required.

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.

Perform traffic control duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Prior experience with directional drilling or underground utility installation preferred.

Ability to read and understand utility locates, plans, and schematics.

Familiarity with operating vac trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment is a plus.

Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.

Willingness to travel to different job sites as required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, and reach throughout the day.
