UGL industrial and resource division are seeking a Senior Technician – Electrical to join our team, for site-based work in Kangaroo Valley NSW.

Role overview:
As the Senior Technician – Electrical you will oversee maintenance operations, focusing predominantly on electrical systems, to ensure that all machinery and equipment are functioning efficiently and safely. This role involves planning and executing routine maintenance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and managing a team of maintenance technicians.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Leadership and Supervision:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical maintenance technicians.
Assign tasks and manage the daily work schedules of the maintenance team.
Collaborate with other departments to prioritize maintenance and repair needs.
Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems to minimize downtime.
Oversee the work of faulty components such as wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical parts.
Project Management:
Plan and oversee electrical projects, including new installations and upgrades.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized services and procure necessary materials and spare parts.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
Technical Expertise:
Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical systems and technologies.
Provide technical support and training to the maintenance team as needed.
Analyze and recommend improvements for electrical systems to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications and Experience:
Technical degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including supervisory or leadership roles.
Skills and Expertise
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and motors.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
