Position: Chef -Full-time

Salary: AUD $73,150 + Superannuation

We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for creating delicious and innovative meals.

Job Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook food to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

- Create and develop new recipes and menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef.

- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet safety and hygiene standards.

- Oversee the kitchen team and assist with training and mentoring junior staff.

- Maintain inventory and order ingredients as needed.

- Manage food preparation and storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

- Ensure proper handling of food allergens and dietary restrictions.

- Assist management in calculating food costs and seasonality to establish appropriate food pricing.

- Keep up to date with industry trends and new cooking techniques.

Qualifications

- Culinary degree at least C-IV level or higher is preferred.

- Familiarity with analytical food and menu preparation software

Requirements for the role:

- Minimum experience of 2 years as a Chef in a professional kitchen is required for this role.

- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Knowledge of food-related curriculum and training techniques

- Understanding of raw materials, quality control and other techniques for the effective creation and distribution of food products

- Excellent customer service skills

- Knowledge of food preparation regulations and standards

- Ability to use common kitchen tools, including cutlery, graters and ranges

- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
