About the Role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) reports to the Head of Business Development, the Regional Business Development Manager and other MaplesFS senior professionals. The successful individual will be responsible for business development, client relationship management, market research/ business intelligence, marketing events senior-level support, department leadership special projects and underlying BD team oversight across the Americas Fiduciary Services business units.

Responsibilities

The BDM will work collaboratively within a global marketing team that provides integrated marketing support for MaplesFS and the wider Maples Group and will assist with the below responsibilities:

Conducting strategic business development research and analysis including target market research, trends identification and database analysis including leveraging cross-selling opportunities;

Advising senior professionals on business development best practice and engaging in relevant internal business development meetings to drive subsequent actions;

Driving internal and external marketing campaigns for the Fiduciary Services division globally with a strong focus on cross-selling; tracking and reporting results to senior members;

Liaising with marketing department representatives across the Maples group to identify revenue generation opportunities, help drive strategic initiatives, share best practices and ensure consistency of service delivery/coordination throughout business development efforts;

Maintaining governance/oversight of the central repository for client pitches and RFP's. Drafting of pitch proposals/RFPs for new business opportunities;

Providing day-to-day coaching support and operational oversight in line with department protocols and procedures with underlying BD support team members the Americas Fiduciary Services division.

Ensuring full coordination and execution of marketing trips and participation at conferences, seminars and events;

Lead, train, police the data mining of intel for business units and sub units across all regions of responsibility. Maintaining and updating all relevant target lists within the firm's CRM system

Preparing and managing annual marketing/business plans and budgets;

Conducting ongoing reviews and reports of budgets and analysing marketing spend to measure results/ROI;

Contribute to the BD leadership operational improvement projects, other relevant business projects/initiatives; and

Carrying out any other duties which may from time to time be required.

Training and Development

Attending local and international networking events to further enhance industry knowledge;

Consistently demonstrating an expert understanding of targeting and lead generation with the ability to recommend both strategic and tactical initiatives in line with the company's business strategy;

Demonstrating a commitment to acquiring new capabilities, constantly striving to improve performance; and

Proactively seeking out and taking advantage of training and development opportunities.

Business Management

Identifying and monitoring trends in the financial services industry and translate into business development opportunities;

Ability to think and act strategically and contribute to operational support needs within the department;

Consistently producing high volumes of work whilst maintaining a proficient performance on the job;

Being able to generate original ideas, finding more efficient/effective ways of doing tasks and providing useful suggestions for improvements; and

Effectively planning and organising work including showing an ability to meet deadlines.

Risk Management

Maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Other

Providing support on ad-hoc projects as required.

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business management, Finance or a related field; and 8+ years of experience in marketing, business development, sales operations, or related field with knowledge of the financial services industry is preferred.

Experience with CRM systems, as well as being highly proficient in MS applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of senior management and staff;

Superior analytical skills with proficiency in measuring and monitoring results of campaigns and specialised marketing programmes;

Advanced project, time management and organisational skills with acute attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;

Amenable to following and reinforcing policies and procedures whilst also being flexible to change/evolution;

Self-motivated with a proactive solutions-oriented attitude, and highly adept at collaborating within a robust one-team environment;

Disciplined work ethic with commitment to high standards of professionalism.
