Job Summary
City Brewery is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Director to lead our Zero Incident Culture across our 4 U.S. sites. This individual will work with each site’s local Environmental Health and Safety teams and senior leadership to ensure a safety-first environment and apply standardized initiatives across all locations. In visiting and supporting all sites, the Environmental Health and Safety Director enthusiastically embraces new safety initiatives, provides change management support, and conducts routine safety checks to promote strong GMP and OSHA practices on the floor.
Duties and Responsibilities
Promotes standardized EHS policies and practices across the company
Establishes new strategies, creates awareness, and implements new safety programs alongside the local EHS leadership teams
Plans, implements, and oversees approved safety and environmental policies and procedures that support compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations (i.e. OSHA, USEPA, State EPA, Municipal)
Owns central EH&S budget and ensures usage of funds to create value across all locations
Presents regular reports and data to senior level leadership to document the progress of City’s safety initiatives and areas of opportunity
Finds creative ways to promote a safety first environment and works with the broader leadership and EHS teams to implement
Promotes maintenance of accurate records as required for all regulatory bodies
Plans, implements, and oversees City Brewery’s safety and environmental policies and procedures
Identifies and implements training opportunities to provide safety awareness throughout the facilities
Connects regularly with EHS leadership across City's sites to discuss current needs and share best practices
Mentors and coaches team members to provide real time feedback on progress and areas of opportunity
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field
Minimum of 7 years of Environmental Health, and Safety Leadership experience
Experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment, a plus
Certified Safety Professional accreditation, a plus
Strong MS Suite skills, particularly MS Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in union environments, a plus
Flexibility to overtime and on-call hours
Ability to travel to other sites domestically about 25-35% of the year
