Summary
Plan and implement a preschool program designed to promote the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each student.
Duties
Plan, prepare and implement a developmental and age appropriate curriculum based on the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards
Plan and utilize child directed instructional centers which will be changed monthly
Prepare a monthly calendar/newsletter and weekly email of upcoming events
Supervise all activities to ensure safety of the students
Provide appropriate guidance for the students through a classroom management program
Maintain progress reports of each student's growth and development
Conduct parent/teacher conferences twice a year
Supervise and instruct the classroom assistant
Cultivate positive relationships with parents, students and colleagues
Assume responsibility for the arrangement, appearance and learning environment of the classroom
Maintain upkeep of the educational equipment and materials in the classroom
Treat each student with dignity and respect
Attend all required staff meetings and school functions as determined by the Director
Requirements
Meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
Completed state criminal/background checks and TB test
Ability to interact with students of all ages and skill levels
Strong organizational skills
