Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Location: Wingdale, NY
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $52/hr
• Per Diem: $150/day

Schedule:
• Hours: 75 hours/week
Project Scope:
Electrical safety oversight for a data center substation construction project. The role involves coordinating with multiple contractors, enforcing strict electrical safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and OSHA regulations across high-voltage installations and substation components.
Qualifications:
• Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of electrical safety and construction oversight experience
Prior experience on substation or data center projects
• Certifications:
NFPA 70-E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
Proven Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program implementation
OSHA 30 or 510 (preferred)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversee site safety compliance for all electrical work, especially within the substation scope
• Conduct daily safety audits, toolbox talks, and field observations
• Ensure proper LOTO procedures and electrical hazard mitigation strategies are followed
• Liaise with subcontractors to enforce NFPA 70-E standards and verify qualifications
• Manage all documentation related to incident reports, safety training, and permits
• Monitor energized work and verify safe work practices in high-voltage environments
• Lead site-specific emergency response drills and hazard assessments
• Support QA/QC and project management teams with technical EHS input
Skills:
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, substation operations, and high-risk environments
• Clear and professional communication skills for high-volume contractor environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety documentation platforms
• Strong leadership with the ability to enforce compliance in a fast-paced setting
• Independent judgment in high-risk decisions and responsive crisis management
Knowledge:
Extensive understanding of OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70-E, and electrical safety programs. Strong ability to communicate and enforce these regulations on data center and substation project sites.
