DevOps Engineer with German

Who we are

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with expertise in the Elastic Stack and a passion for building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure systems. In this role, you will support Elastic on-premises deployments, assist with system migrations, and contribute to the automation and optimization of infrastructure. Fluency in German is required to work with German-speaking clients and stakeholders effectively.

What you'll be doing

Elastic Infrastructure Management:

Deploy, configure, and maintain Elastic Stack components (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) in on-premises environments

Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of Elastic systems

System Migration:

Plan, execute, and monitor system migration projects, including data migration and environment reconfiguration

Develop and document migration strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions

Automation and Optimization:

Design and implement automation pipelines (CI/CD) to streamline Elastic deployments and updates

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimization measures

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Use tools like Ansible and Terraform, or similar to manage and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration

Maintain version-controlled configurations for Elastic and related systems

Collaboration and Support:

Work with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions

Provide Tier 2/3 support for Elastic-related issues, escalating to Elastic’s official support channels as needed

OnCall is needed

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides

Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams and clients

What you'll bring along

Bachelor’s degree in Informatics/ or similar field of study/or equivalent working experience is required

A min 3-5 years demonstrable experience in a similar role is required

Elastic Stack: In-depth knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and their on-premises deployment

DevOps Tools: Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.) and automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform etc.)

Containerization: Experience with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes

Scripting: Proficient in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages for automation and task execution

System Administration: Strong knowledge of Linux systems and networking concepts

Hands-on experience with system migrations in complex environments

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in German and English
