FULL TIME AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

Starting Salary: $45,039

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to repair and maintain a variety of automobiles, trucks, equipment, and tools. Employees in this classification perform journey level mechanical repair work. Position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment. The incumbent performs related work as required, such as driving snow plows and/or sand spreaders as needed. Successful applicant will possess the following: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) to five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes repairing automotive equipment and computer training in automotive systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additionally, possession of a Virginia Class A Commercial Driver’s License and driving record meeting city requirements are required. Background check and driving record check required.
