Summary
Character of Duties: Assist with project management and logistics of natural resources management projects; Assist with keeping track of field crew agenda and helping field and program leads and Natural Resources Director with meetings (set up meetings/take notes); Assist with the hiring of staff and interns; Assist with project logistics such as scheduling training, fieldwork, nursery and lab work, submitting reports, email correspondence; Assist with field equipment and supply procurement, setting up contracts; Assist in the preparation of field activities; Assist with time keeping (related to each project) for all personnel under the supervision of the Associate Director; Assist in the management of project files including field notes and database; Carry out office work, field work, outreach in the community with little supervision; Conduct scientific reviews of literatures; Effectively communicate and interact with the public, agencies, and private businesses; Assist in the budget management of all projects to guarantee proper usage of monies for field work and supplies, employees’ salaries, etc. within the allotted timeframe of each budget year; Attend meetings on behalf of the Associate Director of Natural Resources and the Program Manager; Conducts Orientation Training with the Program Manager for all new hires for Center for Island Sustainability ( CIS ); Organizes staff travel requests and authorizations for the approval of Research Corporation of the University of Guam ( RCUOG ) to include flight itineraries, hotel lodging, meals & incidentals, etc.; Keeps track of all vehicle logs to ensure safety/maintenance regulations and registrations are up to date; Performs duties as main timekeeper for entire CIS Natural Resources staff to include reviewing and processing timesheets as well as maintaining hours mandatory for project completions; Maintains electronic/physical file of employee annual/sick leave hours and requests; Compiles monthly list of employees qualified for desk audits noting their current rate and step to include the next rate & step to promote; Regularly communicates with project Cooperative Agreement Technical Representative (CATRs) to conduct Department of Defense contractor base pass requests for employee access to project sites; Manages all office necessities such as supplies, work orders for maintenance, re stocking of restroom/kitchen needs; Acts as mediator between staff and higher management in regard to work and employee needs; Consistently communicates with RCUOG HR to ensure easy processing of all CIS staff needs; Perform other duties assigned;
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent; One year (1) of work experience;

Police and Court Clearance: Pursuant to Public Law No. 28-24 and Executive Order No. 2005-34, applicants selected for a position are required to provide original police and court (Superior Court of Guam) clearances of no more than three (3) months old prior to commencement of employment. Off-island applicants must obtain clearances from their place of residence. Applicants are responsible for fees associated with obtaining the clearances. Should an applicant be convicted of any crimes other than a minor traffic violation, all applicable information must be provided in the form of a police clearance report and court clearance report. Failure to admit any felony convictions may result in immediate disqualification or disciplinary action. Section 25103, Chapter 25, Title 10 of the Guam Code Annotated requires college or university employees to undergo a physical examination, to include a test for tuberculosis (skin or x-ray), prior to employment and at least annually thereafter. A report of such examination must be conducted by a licensed physician within a state or territory of the United States and must be submitted upon request.
