Accountant

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and overall accounting operations. This individual will work closely with the Controller and support strategic financial initiatives that drive company performance and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals

Lead month-end and year-end close processes

Assist in preparation of financial statements and internal management reports

Perform variance analysis and provide insight on key financial drivers

Support budgeting and forecasting efforts

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting

Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in distribution, logistics, or related industry

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

Proficient in Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and organizational abilities
