Job Summary
Our growing CPA firm has an opening for a Bookkeeper. You will assist clients with bookkeeping projects and perform firm administrative tasks. We are looking for a team member who can demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational and client service skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work in a semi-autonomous manner. Familiarity with different accounting software packages will be a benefit to the candidate, and QuickBooks experience is preferred.
Your specific responsibilities and duties include:
Review accounting files and create adjusting entries to prepare reports for tax return preparation.
Day-to-day general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations on client QuickBooks files
Assist with management of firm databases, project tracking and client communications
Build and maintain client relationships and manage all aspects of the client engagement process
Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
Assist clients with QuickBooks entries and accounting related matters
Must have a strong ability to meet deadlines and be willing to work longer hours during tax season
This is a full-time position.
Our office is located near the intersection of Route 22 and Milwaukee Ave in Buffalo Grove (near Lincolnshire).
Qualifications and Skills
1 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience
The ability to work independently and self organize/prioritize projects
Experience working with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online)
Experience with Microsoft Office software
General bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
Ability to adapt and learn new software solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proactive approach to knowledge of software, processes, and workflows
