Controller

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Department: Finance

Supervises: AP/AR Specialist and General Ledger Accountant, Senior AP/AR Specialist and General Ledger Accountant and Senior Accountant

Financial Responsibilities

Prepare monthly journal entries for accounts receivable and revenue adjustments.

Collaborate on developing the annual operating budget and summaries.

Prepare financial proformas and assist with financial policy implementation.

Support financial audits, including for CARES Act, 5500, and tax filings.

Project Management

Plan and execute projects to meet milestones, quality, budget, and customer satisfaction.

Manage multiple priorities effectively.

Adapt priorities as business needs change.

Lead financial system upgrades or implementations.

Partner (Staff) Management and Development

Lead, supervise, and prioritize the work of direct reports.

Ensure clear work assignments, performance standards, and continuous feedback.

Train and educate partners on tasks and industry trends.

Approve time cards and ensure their accuracy.

Promote engagement and open communication within the team.

Mentor others and model high ethical standards and accountability.

Requirements

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required

2. CPA or Master’s Degree in finance related field preferred

3. 7 + years financial reporting, planning and analysis experience

4. At least 3+ years supervising employees

5. Experience in healthcare preferred, specifically responsibilities modeling patient Accounts Receivable

6. Knowledge of GAAP

7. Advanced experience with Microsoft office, specifically Excel

8. Working knowledge of computerized general ledger systems

9. Excellent interpersonal skills

10. Ability to work in a professional manner as a member of a team with team-oriented goals

11. Ability to interact with all members of staff and upper management

12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

13. Ability to learn new tasks in a timely manner

14. Time management skills – ability to prioritize to work in an efficient way

15. Ability to handle multiple tasks

16. Exhibit “pro-active” skills – follow up, initiative, and others

17. Excellent organizational skills

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust, etc. Job requires being in the office approximately 90% of normal work week

$90,000 - $115,000
