ComResource is looking for a Senior Technical Manager – Data Platform Transformation.

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Technical Manager to lead a data platform and operations team through a major transformation. This is a unique opportunity to oversee the modernization of large-scale data infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will manage a team of skilled engineers, guide the transition from legacy platforms, and optimize Hadoop and Snowflake environments.Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of senior data platform engineers, providing performance management and career development.

Oversee the reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of Snowflake, Kafka, and on-premise big data platforms.

Drive the strategic transition from Hadoop/HBase to a modern data platform by defining roadmaps and collaborating with leadership.

Optimize Snowflake usage across the organization, ensuring best practices in cost, performance, security, and governance.

Partner with software engineering and data teams to align on new architectures and migration strategies.

Establish and enforce standards for operations, automation, and monitoring to improve system efficiency.

Advocate for best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.Essentials:

Proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

Extensive expertise in Snowflake administration, operations, and optimization at an enterprise scale.

Deep understanding of distributed data architectures, large-scale data storage, and processing frameworks.

Experience leading teams through significant data platform transitions and application migrations.

Strong strategic vision combined with the ability to execute operational tasks.

Excellent collaboration and influencing skills for driving change across engineering teams.Desired:

Experience with Hadoop/HBase decommissioning.

Hands-on knowledge of Kafka, Spark, and large-scale data pipelines.

Experience managing multi-petabyte data environments in hybrid or on-premise settings.
