Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining all types of vehicles and heavy equipment to keep them in efficient operating condition.

The Take Charge MECHANIC:
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use.
· Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects
· Repairs trucks and heavy equipment in a timely manner
· Removes and repairs engine, transmission, or differential
· Rebuilds buckets, dump bodies, broken parts, appropriate structural members, etc., using welding equipment
· Rewires lights, tarps, and other electrical components
· Adjusts and repairs brakes and fixes hydraulic leaks and cylinders
· Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
· Welds broken parts and appropriate structural members
· Removes, repairs, and replaces tires for motor vehicle fleet and heavy equipment
· Performs all other duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager
Adheres to all safety regulations and reports any violations to field supervision immediately.
· Maintains a clean work area; picks up all tools and equipment and secures work area daily to eliminate potential hazards
· Follows proper safety and incident reporting procedures, bringing problems to the attention of the Equipment Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance
• Knowledge of safety precautions
• Hand, eye, and foot coordination
• Understands, follows, and transmits written and oral instructions
• Meets attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Education and/or Experience:
Three to five years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. Welding experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions. The employee may frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will usually work indoors, where the noise level can be loud. Requirements:
