Summary
The Associate, Information Security should be able to learn and begin to administratively configure and manage key security solutions. The incumbent will also learn to support in the management of an enterprise-sized solution base of more than 15,000 endpoints. They will also develop the skills to provide 2nd level security solution support.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Understand and assist with the definition and development of systems plans, models and solutions.
Assist with the preparation of test data and test methodologies.
Provide up to tier-two SME escalation support to the Service Desk for security related issues
Partner with Analysts and Specialists to laisse with end users and other I.T departments.
Learn and train to administratively configure and manage key security solutions
Assist with the development of security standards and best practices
Recommend security enhancements to management or senior Information Security staff
Follow up with appropriate parties to manage security incidents to closure
Understand and begin to integrate threat intelligence feeds.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Basic knowledge of development in an NT Client/Server Platform or Unix Client/Server Platform
Skills and Experience in at least two Platforms
Basic knowledge of the interaction of system architecture components
Working knowledge in backup and recovery, system integration, database servers and systems management functions.
Working Skills and Experience in installing and managing complex security solutions
Ability to predict, detect and respond to potential malicious factors
General knowledge of all areas of IT
Good operating systems knowledge (both Microsoft and *NIX)
Working knowledge of MySQL, SQL or Oracle DBs are an advantage
Intermediate in Information Security vendor supplied security solutions
Basic in Risk Mitigation and Business Controls
Basic in Data Management and Analytics
Basic level of understanding in Project Management
Basic level of understanding in Architecture and Solution Integration
Basic in Peer Team Partnering
Knowledge of the latest information technology (IT) security trends
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
